Camino al Mictlán - The Oculus, World Trade Center - New York 2025

ICamino al Mictlán, an immersive Day of the Dead digital art experience presented at The Oculus in the World Trade Center, New York, from 2021 to 2024. The project transformed one of the world’s most iconic architectural spaces into a living portal of memory, ritual, and digital storytelling.

Set within Santiago Calatrava’s soaring, white-ribbed structure—conceived as a dove in flight—the experience merged ancient Mexican cosmology with contemporary technology. NFT galleries, large-scale projections, and audio-visual performances activated the Oculus’ 350-foot, light-filled hall, creating a space that felt both ceremonial and futuristic.

By bringing Día de los Muertos into the heart of Lower Manhattan, Camino al Mictlán created a cultural bridge between ancestral tradition and digital expression, inviting viewers to pause, remember, and reflect within a global, urban, and technological context.
